Are you ready for Valentine's Day?
Maybe it is all the hearts, and everything pink and red! I definitely felt an uplifting of my spirit when I put all the winter odds and ends away for next year and started unpacking all my fresh pinks and reds.
I admit it. I'm a
hopeless romantic. I love all
aspects of decorating. The flatware and the china, the flowers, the
invitations, the food, the music ... but especially the details.
This
Valentine's Day get-together was with friends from my gardening club. Mostly
we talked about and planned our gardens for the up coming season. It's just too long
to wait to share our enthusiasm over the long winter. This afternoon included Bentley's raspberry tea and Valentine cupcakes.
Enjoy the photos.

Tree ornaments up-close.
My cupcakes have become an art form. I decorated these yellow and chocolate cupcakes with almond buttercream and red and pink sugars with a Marciano cherry on some. They were delicious.
I love cupids arrow and the conversation hearts on top of the cupcakes.
This is my Valentine present to myself. One of my favorite teacups with a cupcake inside.
Chocolate is good too!
I love the pink frosting on the bottom and the white frosting on top... so sweet.
Royal Albert Lady Carlyle tea pot makes any occasion special.
Found creamer and sugarer years ago while antiquing. They are Johann Haviland from Bavaria, Germany. I love all the detail work on these and, of course, the pink roses.
Side board table with polka-dot chickens and heart-garland tied with pink satin ribbons. Candy in compote jar, pink pig, Valentine Cards, blackboard with love bug. What would Valentines Day be without roses?

Cloche jar filled with large beaded pink and red hearts, and small glass pink and red hearts. Wrapped around the jar are battery operated pink lights. Pink and red beads wrapped around top.
I end with a photo from my garden last summer. I will be rummaging through my seed catalogs from now until it is time to plant.
Have a very Happy Valentine's Day!
We'll chat soon...Cathy
