Valentine's Day 2011

                                    Is there anyone who doesn't  love chocolate, roses and romantic cards...

                                                       all in gorgeous shades of red and pink?

Hello everyone, I hope this post finds you all doing fabulous! Did I mention I just love Valentine's Day.  Well, to help you celebrate,  I've put together some of my old  favorites and some new finds for this holiday of love.  I hope you enjoy the photos, and as always I would love to hear your comments.

          This was an incredible, post-Christmas find. The individual branches are covered with miniature crystals, the entire tree reminds me of rock candy. I've been collecting these ornaments throughout the years and strung the pearl-garland from old necklace that snapped. Is it too much? I don't think so.

Read glittery cherubs and pink sparkly hearts...and love, of course.

 I drew these birds on a cardboard template and then cut them out of poster board. A few coats of paint, and some stenciling later, and voila! Some pink curling ribbon to hang.

 Hands down, one of the best meals I've ever made. The mushroom and spinach ravioli, the fresh Italian bread, and oh, oh the thyme butter. Ladies, I highly recommend.

Found these chickens at TJ Maxx.  Perfect.

Centerpiece is red mercury glass with roses.  

The red boxes with pink lids and flower on top are

filled with Raffaello confections.

Pink chargers, Royal Doulton old country rose dinner pattern, and Royal Doulton chintz salad plate.

The soft pink color of the chargers is a nice backdrop for the mix of dish patterns.  The tea cup is from my collection of assorted patterns and colors.

My daughter's favorite tea cup.  When she is studying hard, I still bring her up a cup of tea in this.  It always makes her smile.

When purchasing this tea cup years ago unaware of dates and names I wasn't in love with it but I didn't want to  leave it behind either.  It has become one of my favorites.  It is a Royal Albert -Crown China - Made in England, Lot # 1554.

Using my pink depression glass biscuit jar as a vase.  Love it.

These were the hit of the party.

This chandelier has been my January project.  I used tea cups of the same design with different flower patterns.  For now it hangs in my mud room along with some plants that need to come in out of the cold Michigan winter weather.  I'm already in the thought process of planning a dessert tea party for warmer weather where it will take center stage in the pergola garden.
